Analysis 5
Online Dating
With people working harder and longer in this current economy and taking less and less time to devote to their personal lives, online dating has become a sweeping sensation. Online dating allows people to find a wider range of people that they may never have met before. Since people already mainly communicate via the internet, dating that way was a simple transition.
Online dating lets people communicate and contact one another in an un moderated setting with the intent of forming a romantic relationship. People will sign up with one of the many dating sites and usually fill out some personal information. The more popular and in depth sites will make you do a profile with numerous different personal questions to really pin point the type of person that you are. That information will then be used to match you with others that put down the same or similar answers to the questions.
This type of profile is what is so appealing to so many busy adults. The profiling allows you to only meet people that share similar interests, jobs, locations and morals. In a world with so little free time it seems to be a time saver allowing you to skip the people that you have absolutely nothing in common with and go straight for the ones that are similar to you.
People can access their site any time of day either on their personal pc, laptops or their cell phones. Users can also utilize the many ways to communicate that they sites offer. There are webcasts, online chats, message boards and telephone chats. This is also a safe way to meet and try to get to know someone while sitting in your pajamas before you take time to go on a date. These sites usually have a membership fee, but many users feel that it is well worth it. The sites sort through the totally wrong people for you and help you narrow down the right one. It saves many from the dating rat race and dating all the wrong people.

Analysis 4 Twitter

Twitter
Now a days internet social networks are the “it” thing to do to stay in touch with family and friends. More and more people are taking a second throughout the day to post a blog, return a message on face book or update their MySpace. Now there is a new social network for people to get crazy over, Twitter. Twitter allows people to get on their mobile phones their personal computers and laptops and update their friends, family and sometimes strangers about their day to day little activities.
Twitter lets users post short messages of 140 characters or less. Once you post it on your page it is sent to your followers, which are just people who subscribe to your twitter page. The messages you post are called tweets. Twitter has caught the attention of everyone from the normal working people like you and me to celebrities to presidential campaigns. There was even a court case that started because of twitter postings in regards to Barrack Obama.
It seems now a days everyone is logging on to post on something and twitter is the new way to get a quick message in about your day. It is said to be the third most used internet social network today. So with IM’s, face book, MySpace, twitter and every other social network in cyberspace there really is no reason to not stay in touch. Twitter is free and you can search for your friends once you sign up.

Week 3 Analysis: Reality TV Shows

Reality T.V. showed up a while back but since its conception has gained mass pop culture popularity. Now a days millions around the world are glued to their televisions night after night to catch the latest of the real TV.
Reality T.V covers the spectrum today when it comes to different kinds. You have reality TV to win cash or prizes, following regular people’s lives and the lives of their children, people with drug problems, finding your perfect soul mate and winning the career of your dreams. Some of these shows are Jon and Kate plus 8, Bridezillas, You think you can dance, American Idol, the Real Housewives (of everywhere) and Biggest Loser. Reality TV is so prominent in our entertainment today that it would take pages to list all of the actual reality shows that exist. They say that they are totally real and unscripted. They claim real life at its worst and it’s finest. Although they fail to mention all the editing that takes place in their real life TV.
People everywhere are clamoring to be a part of the next reality show. Celebrities trying to gain a little extra exposure agree to have their lives taped and put on the screen for millions to see. I myself have fallen into the reality TV craze and have select ones that I have been known to watch.
Reality TV catches the attention and approval of people of all ages, races and genders. There is a little something for everyone out there. Whether you are in a business suit or a McDonald’s uniform you can rest assured that there is a reality show out there that will appeal to you. Whether you want to watch two people fall in love (after one dated multiple people living in the same house), celebrate as people lose weight and change their lives or win money that you wish you could; you can tune in on any given night and find your perfect reality show. Reality TV use to be geared toward the younger generation with young adults on their own and acting up. Now though as I said they have covered the spectrum with something for just about every age group.
